Writing as part of studying for my NCTJ Diploma, I have been able to develop my writing style and become a more complete journalist by applying my knowledge of SEO, interviewing techniques and a good eye for a story into a newsroom setting. Published work includes an explainer on the Spring Statement, a live sports blog and coverage of events and art festivals.

A range of articles which were completed in a week-long placement with the Big Issue North. Work includes an interview feature with actor Harki Bhambra, coverage of bus driver protests and sidebars on Carrie-Anne Moss and The Matrix.
A placement in a traditional newsroom in which I wrote on a range of subjects, such as new jobs in the North West, A scheme to promote Ricky Gervais' After Life and reaction to the potential scrapping of the TV license fee.
A placement focused on writing on a patch in Altrincham and Warrington. This placement particularly helped me develop my skills in writing human interest pieces and features.
